Founded in 2000 based on the dissolved People's Sports Club. Football traditions in the Pustynia date back to the 1960s, when the People's Sports Club of the Podkarpacie Pustynia was created. At the beginning of its activity the club did not achieve much success, only thanks to Bronisław Błaszkiewicz, a former player of "Polonia" Bytom, the team from A-Class was promoted to the Tarnów district league. In 1978, then the managing director of the Agricultural and Industrial Combine "IGLOOPOL", Edward Brzostowski took the initiative to "hug" players from Pustynia, wanting to create better training and living conditions for them. Of course, the management of Podkarpacie agreed to such a proposal and from the 1978/1979 season a new team appeared in the competition under the name TS "IGLOOPOL" Dębica. Team based on Podkarpacie Desert in several seasons advanced to the first league (current Ekstraklasa). In 1996 the Igloopol Dębica club was dissolved and the Podkarpackie Pustynia returned to its place.
Currently, the club deals only with training young people from nearby towns (Pustynia, Kozłów and Kędzierz) from one of them, and more precisely from Pustynia seven-time Polish representative Seweryn Gancarczyk. He continued his career started in Pustynia and went to Zamość where he played and trained with Hetman. His game was quickly noticed by skats from Ukraine where he spent eight seasons playing, among others, in the Arsenal of Kiev, Volyn Lutsk and the Kharkiv Metalist. After a good season in Ukraine, "garnek" wanted to play in the Polish Ekstraklasa and decided to move to Lech Poznan. He won the national championship with Kolejarz, then he played in Górnik Zabrze, GKS Tychy and Rozwoju Katowice.
